Drawdown Limits by Account Type
Account Type | Daily Drawdown Limit | Total Drawdown Limit |
Atlas Trader | 5% | 10% |
Atlas Plus | 5% | 8% |
Atlas Express | 3% | 7% |
How Are Drawdowns Calculated?
Maximum Daily Drawdown
This is based on 5% (Atlas Trader & Atlas Plus) or 3% (Atlas Express) of the highest balance or equity at 5 PM EST.
If your losses exceed this limit in a single day, your evaluation will fail immediately.
Total Drawdown
This is measured from the starting account balance and cannot be exceeded at any point.
Example: If you start with a $100,000 account, your equity cannot drop below $90,000 (Atlas Trader), $92,000 (Atlas Plus), or $93,000 (Atlas Express).
What Happens If You Breach a Drawdown Limit?
If you exceed the daily or total drawdown, your evaluation will fail, and you will need to purchase a new challenge to restart.
There are no exceptions for drawdown breaches, so staying within these limits is essential to passing the evaluation.
How to Stay Within the Drawdown Limits
Use proper position sizing to avoid taking excessive risks.
Set stop-loss orders to manage potential losses.
Track your account balance and equity to ensure you stay within allowed limits.
Avoid overleveraging, as large positions can quickly result in breaching drawdown thresholds.
By maintaining strong risk management practices, traders can work toward their profit targets while staying within the required drawdown limits.
