Account limits

Daily loss limit

How much your equity may fall in one trading day. Every daily limit is set from your equity at the 00:00 UTC reset.

The daily loss limit caps how far your equity can fall within one day. Going below the day's floor breaches the account. The day resets at 00:00 UTC for every account.

How the daily floor is set

Every daily limit is trailing, end of day. At each daily reset (00:00 UTC) a new floor is set from your equity at that moment. It stays fixed for the rest of the day, then resets again at the next 00:00 UTC.

Daily floor

Daily floor = Equity at 00:00 UTC × (1 − limit)

  • The anchor is your equity at the reset, including any trades you held overnight. If you carry a losing trade past midnight, your new day starts from that lower equity.
  • Profit made during the day, open or closed, does not raise today's floor. It moves the next day's floor, because that starts from your equity at the next reset.
  • The breach check is live: your equity must stay above today's floor at all times.
Example · $100,000 2-Step, 5%
Equity at 00:00 UTC $102,000
Daily floor for the day $96,900
Your equity may not go below $96,900, until the next reset
Example · $25,000 Instant Funded, 3%
Equity at 00:00 UTC $25,400
Daily floor for the day $24,638
An open trade lifts equity to $26,200 floor stays at $24,638
Equity at the next 00:00 UTC is $25,900
Daily floor for the next day $25,123

Things that do not count against the day

  • Profit deducted by the news, short-trade or margin-usage rules. A deduction can never cause a daily breach.
  • A payout you withdraw today. The day's floor is lowered by the amount paid out.

When is the reset?

00:00 UTC, every day, for every account. In London that is 01:00 in summer (BST) and 00:00 in winter. The Daily reset card on the Statistics page counts down to it.
